External DVD DL R/W drive

What external DVD burner with the following parameters do you recommend?

  • USB 2 or 3, draws power through USB port.
  • Can Read and Write (burn) CDs, DVDs and Dual Layer DVDs.
  • Blue Ray R/W would be nice, but not required.
  • Works with Dell XPS 9560, Windows 10.

Furthermore, what additional software (preferably free) do I need to write/burn in the above formats?

I check the reviews on Newegg and Amazon.

If you have a USB3 port on your PC, then I would go with one that can work at USB3 speed.

Can't help with software as I use an off-line Windows XP laptop to do that.
