ePSA HARD DISK ERROR 2000-0142 IN DELL INSPIRON 3542

2 days ago I was not able to boot into windows so I tried to run the Dell ePSA test and there the hard disk showed the error 2000-0142.

My laptop is 

Dell Inspiron 15 3542

Core i3 4005u 1.70GHZ

4gb Ram

My question is that whether I can swap my HDD with SSD? Of 2.5" form factor. And if yes can I swap it with CRUCIAL BX500 240GB varient pls help me
