DVD question.
HI,
I'm a little bit confused about my DVD burner. Could someone tell me if it's an 8X DVD+R/RW? If not could you tell me what it is? MY Service Tag Number is BJ8R351
Thanks!

No one on this forum can give you that info based on your service tag number. You'll need to provide the make and model number of your DVD burner. It should be on your invoice.

Look in the Device Manager under CDROM and it will identify
the model of drive that is installed in your system. With
that model we can spec your drive. I would suspect it is
an 8x DVD but cannot be sure without the model.

Hi Tigsha,
Currently Dell`s Search is not working for me, however from reading your signature and assuming the drive is the NEC 2100a, then yes the drive is suppose to write to 8X DVD+R media.
Dell released a Firmware update for this drive on 7-1-2004 that addresses the write / read issues.
Best Regards
