Dell XPS 8910 - Second HD
Hi, I have read through a lot of questions and answers and I'm still stumped. I took delivery of a Dell XPS 8910 a week or so ago and tried to install a second 2TB hard drive into an empty slot. I have connected the SATA cable to the third socket on the motherboard and attached the power line but nothing shows up in Windows. I have checked the cables over and over and everything looks ok.
I run Disk Management in Windows and the drive just isn't there.
I've been through the BIOS and there doesn't seem to be anything obvious I am missing.
There is a 256gb SSD as a boot drive and a factory install 2tb drive already in the case.
Do i need to turn off RAID or something?
Thanks in advance.

Hi DYRMS86,
Thank you for reaching out to Dell Community Forum.
Can you swap this hard drive with the 1st hard drive and check if it is detected in BIOS.
Please click my DELL-username and send me a Private Message with the Dell Service Tag number and your email address.
Note: please don't mention the service tag or email id on the public forum as it contains your personal information

Well, that was strange.
I did as you asked and it was recognised, so I swapped them back and put the new drive back in bay two. I booted up and now Windows recognised both of them.
Confused but happy.
Thanks for your help.
