Dell HDD Password release code
Hello,
My laptop Inspiron 5748 mother borad is died but i need to access the data on hard disk that has a hdd password.
I installed the hdd on another computer that is not dell and i enter the correct password but this is not work. it say disabled.
From this link i try to get a release code from dell support but I don't know the procedure (http://www.dell.com/support/Article/us/en/4/SLN142655/EN)
I have the service tag.
Can everyone help me or say to me what to do?

The password can only be removed by the user by reinstalling it in the system where it was originally set. If you can't do that, but need the data, there are companies that have the required tools to remove the password, but it's not something you can do yourself.
Try contacting one of the reputable data recovery services -- Gillware, Ontrack, etc. - they should be able to remove the password so you can access the data.
