Dell D6000 USB-C connection and in addition to the laptops own power supply

I have a Dell D6000 docking station connected to a Dell 3410 laptop via USB-C. It can power the laptop and peripherals fine. Is there any issue having the laptops own power supply connected at the same time as the D6000 (other than it being redundant)?
