Dell 6420 - BIOS does not see HDD Seagate Mobile - 1TB ST1000LM035

I would like to change HDD 320GB, but when I insert it into NB, BIOS does not recognise it. New HDD is ok, when in external box than it normally runs. I tried to change bios settings (SATA, RAID, AHCP,...), but nothing .. bios still does not see the new HDD.

Most new drives are 7 mm in height - the original was probably 9.5 mm.  Install a spacer so that the slimmer drive can connect properly to the mainboard.

What happened to the original drive?  If it was also not detected (and a new drive is the same), chances are there's a problem with the system board -- and that the drives are fine.

If operating system is present go to disk management and if its there it will probably need activating.
