Clean Windows 8 PRO Installation
I would like to do a clean Windwos 8 PRO installation on my Dell Inspiron 17R, 1720. For this purposes I want to use a Samsung 850 EVO SSD Drive. My questions is:
Can I use Windows 8.1 PRO system Builder OEM DVD 64-bit to do a clena installation on Dell Inspiron 17R, 1720?
Will my BIOS and the current windows activation key allow me to perform a clean installation using this OEM DVD?
many thanks
Yury

If it is the same version of Windows that shipped with the other system, yes you can.
You CANNOT use a Pro disc for a system that shipped with the standard version of Windows 8, though.

You can only use Pro if that's what your system came with (and is licensed for). On an Inspiron, that's unlikely. You'll need to install the standard version of 8 first and then purchase a license key for Pro if that's what you want to use.

Can an official Dell representative confirm that Windows 8.1 PRO System Builder OEM DVD can not be used on Dell Inspiron 17R, 1720 Special Edition in order to do a clean installation?
many thanks,

Can I use a re-installation DVD that came with the Dell Inspirion 17R, 1720 laptop to do a clean install or not?
