CD/DVD Tray
The DVD/CD tray is empty and I push the button to open it so I can insert a CD.
When I push the button nothing happens.
Any ideas to open the tray?
The tray is on a PC Inspiron.
Thanks
Dutch

There should be a small hole on the front of the tray. That is the manual release. Use something small such as an end from a paper clip to insert and release the tray. If there is no other problems with the drive, that will usually fix the hang up.
If that does not fix it, time for a new (replacement) drive.

Hi Dutch-Tulsa,
Thanks for posting. Apologies that your system is not performing as expected.
Some systems may have a keyboard Function (Fn) key combination act as an eject button, which is <Fn> + <Eject> which you can use as well.
Here is information from the Dell knowledge base you may find helpful:
Optical Disk Drive is unable to eject the disc
If the system is under warranty, please contact me privately. Be sure to include your personal information (name, address, telephone, email) and your computer's service tag number in your message. Thanks.
If there is no warranty, then you could contact our Out of Warranty team to get a quote for a paid service call: http://dell.to/1vnT6CQ
