CD/DVD Cable & Boot Sequence
Hi Folks,
I'm trying to install a DVD Burner on my system. I have the CD last on the ribbon cable set up as the Master; the DVD is second to last on the ribbon cable and is set as the Slave. The ribbon then goes back to the board. The ribbon for the hard drive has not been touched.
The problem is when I boot up. I get an error message with a statement asking me to hit F1 to continue or F2 to enter Setup. In the Setup, I have the Secondary Master and Secondary Slave set to Auto.
Any ideas? Should I keep the jumpers the same but switch the drive locations on the ribbon?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Frank

the Cable Select feature which allows the position on the
cable to determine the Master and Slave.
