Cannot upgrade ssd on Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series (2015)
I bought the model with 1tb hdd and a core i7. I recently purchased a ssdnow v300 from Kingston but wasn't able to connect it to the storage Bay. Apparently, the ssd is too big. I'm confused though because the ssd is supposed to be 7mm thick and 2.5 inches in size. Is there any trick that I could use to make the upgrade? Does dell offer the instalation service? Thank you

Hi Andresvadillo,
A picture is worth a thousand words. Maybe you could attach a picture showing the SSD with the hard drive bracket so we can see what's not working.

It didn't occur to me that you were trying to ADD an SSD to the system. When you said upgrade, I thought you meant replace the old HDD with an SSD. Sorry.

The system has only one 2.5" drive bay - to mount the SSD, the hard drive has to go. The SSD mounts in place of the hard drive.

Thank you for your assistance. I was able to connect the ssd. Apparently a couple of screws were preventing the ssd to connect. Also I learned that doing a clean install saves you a thousand problems!
