cannot get dvd player to show up in my computer on Dell Inspiriion 530S

I think I might have done something wrong in the BIOS because my dvd player isn'tn showing up in my computer now.  I can't figure out what I could have done to make it disappear, can someone help me get it back.

                            Thanks Debra

Yes, go back into the BIOS (F2) and disable the floppy controller. Then you should not need to hit F1 to start the computer.

Hi Debra,

Please click my link below to the Microsoft Fixit Utility. That usually fixes this problem.

Osprey4,

This did not fix it, I still need help. The drive is not showing up in my computer just the c;/ drive and the floopy, and I don't need the floopy.  Also, after I put a new hard drive in I am having to use f1 to get into the start up on windows 7.

I hope you can help Debra

Ok, wait. Now you're telling me you just installed a new hard drive? Did you set up your drives in the BIOS? Did you turn off the floppy drive controller?

I don't know honestly what I did in the bios, but I got back in there yesterday and noticed that the rom was disabled, so I enabled that and saved that and when I got back online there was my dvd player.  So your telling me I need to go back in and disable the floopy? will that then stop us from having to us f1 to get into the computer?

Thank you so much for your help. Debra
