Both my DVD and CDrom will not work

This problem started with my DVD rom and called dell and they sent me a new DVD rom drive. Then 5 days later it stopped working again. THEN my CD rom stopped working. So now they're both not working :smileymad:. They are not being read by the computer and they're listed nowhere. Any solutions or suggestions?

Are they present in the Device Manager? 
 
If not, are they present in the Set-up (BIOS)?

nope.. their not listed in the Device manager and in the BIOS

If they are not in the BIOS, that means they are not connected or the connection
is not recognized.  Open the system and check the IDE cable to the back of the
drives.  Also trace the cable to the motherboard connector.  Insure a good
connection at all three points.  Make sure the power connections are secure
at each drive.
