Alienware m15 Hard Drive 'not installed'

Got up for a moment, came back, and my 6 month old Alienware m15 was on the boot-up logo and wouldn't start. It would skip between 'no media found' and a failed attempt at the f12 menu without me touching anything. Nothing I pressed had any effect. After pressing the power button and rebooting a few times with same results, got into the f2 menu. Tried switching boot sequence for windows boot manager to be first and switched the AHCI thing, that finally allowed me to get the f12 menu up and be able to run a diagnostic. (I have no idea what I'm doing so just followed a youtube guide)

A warning came up 'Hard Drive - Not installed ; Continue testing?' and it marks the hard drive as the issue.

Is there something I'm doing wrong, or will it need to have a new hard drive? I bought the computer in April, so it should very much still be under initial warranty, as well as having onsite/in-home service and accidental damage service for a year, so I think it's covered, but just wanted to double check if there's anything else I can do before contacting them?

Also, I have files on my hard drive that are pretty important. Is it possible to recover those? I have a hard drive to usb cord, but I don't want to go taking my computer apart to pull out the hard drive if that means I'm going to void my warranty.

Not sure why its not wanting to let me reply -

Tried switching back to RAID ON and restarting, still freezes and can barely get it to the f2 or f12 screen. Switched back to AHCI, few more freezes and restarts, then it actually booted up.

I've got all my important files backed up to an external drive while its on. Its 4am for me so heading to bed for the night, but I'll turn my computer back on in the morning and update if its not reading again. Still very worried about what's wrong.
