Alienware 17 R3
Hi guys, Having a dilemma regarding my 17 R3.
My machine comes with a 128gb M.2 primary SSD and a 1TB SATA as secondary. I would like to increase the size of my SSD to at least 1TB as do not like running games from my secondary. Is it possible to have 2 x 1TB M.2 SSD's set up in a raid confit (as I have a spare M.2 slot) or should I just disregard the M.2 altogether and use a EVO 960 SATA SSD. Raid isn't really that important as I have a NAS back up.
Does anyone have any recommendations on drives or advice to maximise the potential of my machine.
Thanks in advance
Kind regards
NeoDT

Here is a decent thread discussing this. From what I have seen it might be better to go with the SATA option, RAID does not work, but you could upgrade the M.2 drive to a 512GB (I haven't seen 1 TB M.2 tested but it might work), I do know the 2.5" drive won't have an issue being upgraded.
Best regards,
Brad
