4k/512e Drive support on Perc H710 & 810
Good evening,
More of a question regarding the future of Enterprise RAID controllers.
Does anyone know if a firmware upgrade is in the works to have H710 & H810 raid controllers be compatible with 512e/4Kn block sizes? Currently only 13th Generation raid controllers support this.

Hi All,
I just realised this post was never closed out and I wanted to share our findings... albeit several years later!
4Kn Drives are entirely unsupported in Dell systems until 13th Generation. All 12th Gen compatible controllers will mark them as blocked as they are unable to interface with the 4K sector size. The only work around for this on 12th Generation that we're aware of is to use 512e sector size drives. These are 4Kn drives that emulate 512 sector size and will work as 512n drives do.
