To Suspend a connector to a mailbox Journal

Hello to all,

I have a EmailXtender Server with several connectors to different mailbox journal.
Do you know how can I suspend a connector of these? temporaly.

And/or, How can I put a connector as preferred.

I cann't use "Active Changes" in EmailXtender Administrator.

Regards.

Hi Pit,

There is no "preferred" to my knowledge. Rather the first connector you have installed... but not even sure about this.

Do you want to suspend only one connector? Need to remove it from the properties of your EX EmailVault. Then you can "Activate Changes".

Otherwise, you can only suspend ALL the connected mailboxes from archiving through the registry (see admin guide Method 1: Using the SuspendMailPull Registry Entry).

Hope that helps, Jochen.

Hello Jochen,

All that is correct but i would need suspend a connector without "Active Changes".

Normally when I apply "Active changes" I have a error and I need to restart Administration service.

I would need something as modify the registry for example. ;)

Hi Pit,

I don't see a solution that requires no services reboot.

In the registry HLKM\SOFTWARE\OTG\EmailXtender\Accounts\ExchangeServers\JournalingServer~~~JournalingMailbox you can still back-up/delete this key. But as the service has read this information, it still empties the journaling mailbox, although the key is not deleted.

So, I don't see another way that (in your case) requires a restart of services. Why is that anyway, that you need to restart the service for just "activating changes"?

Good luck, Jochen.

If you are having issue while activating changes then restart of all EX services will be required.

I think there was somehting in the latest release notes of EX where something about the activate changes error was fixed(i could be wrong)

Thanks,
Rajan

A restart of the Administration service would be required to "Activate changes" when that error message is present.

Patch 4.81.1043 has the fix for this issue.

Other than that, short of disconnecting the journaling mailbox in question I don't believe there is a method to stop injestion from one Journaling Mailbox.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OTG\EmailXtender\OnChange
DWORD:SuspendMailPull=0 by default.

change to 1

at least with versions up until 655.
---------------
This pauses mail pull from the mailconnectors, but I think it applies to ALL. Maybe this can be of some help.
