Support of IBM SoNAS as a NAS container

We are an EX/DX/ES1 with Centera storage back-end.

I would like to begin using NAS storage for future SourceOne Storage and target this new archive folder for our EX migration to SourceOne.Ultimately this would eliminate the need for Centeras down the road.

Before allocating the space for our project, our storage team is requesting feedback and confirmation that SourceOne will support IBM SoNAS as a NAS container?

Is anyone on the Forum using the IBM SoNAS?

I contacted ES1 support and was unable to locate anything specific regarding the IBM SoNAS product - including that it was or was NOT supported.

Hopefully, someone in our community is using this product and can share their thoughts on the subject.

Obviously moving 8 years of archived email into a new storage is something we want to assure is supported.

Meanwhile, I will continue searching the Powerlink Knoweldge Base.

TIA

As long as it's a standard CIFS Share it is support as an Archive / Index / Message Center target.

If you can read/write to it connected from a Windows Server/WorkStation via the UNC Path you are good to go.

You will be losing retention control from SourceOne using this as an Archive target.

FYI, Centera is supported directly from SourceOne without DX.

Yes, we are using a direct connect to Centera now with a newly created archive folder. We are focusing on removing DX when possible after our EX-ES1 migration.

Losing "retention control" meaning someone with the proper permissions can Change/Modify/Delete or are there other considerations?
