Search problem
Dear All,
We use Microsoft Exchange 2007 SP1. Few weeks ago we install EmailXtender 4.81.1147. Real time archiving works fine, archiving with EmailXtract also works fine.
We also try shortcutting with EmailXtract on few test mailboxes and works fine - also restoring messages back to Exchange server.
We have problems with searching messages. When I search EmailXtender archive with User Search plug-in(Outlook 2003) for some specific user mailbox, search result in very strange.
I found that search find only few messages, not all that were achived. I checked archive for that specific user with Archive Veriffication Utility and all messagges are there in archive.
Any suggestions?
Best regards
Matej

Are you doing User searches and selecting a mailbox against SENT TO option in search plug-in ? If yes, then can you please see if the user mailbox selected is member of large list of distribution groups ? If yes, please speak to support about it, they should be able to help you.
Thanks,
Rajan

What is the best practise when creating collecting rules in EmailXtender? We have many departments(sales, accounting, ...) in our company. In EmailXtender I created a cabinet for each department and collecting rule for each department cabinet based on distribution list.
For example:
Sales department
cabinet name: sales
collection rule for cabinet sales: sales distribution list
I want to know if this cause the problems, that I created collection rules on cabinets based on distribution list?
Thanks,
Matej

Make sure that you are not always receiving 50 results and if so, modify the max results in Tools -> Options from the search plug-in.

Do you have any folder or cabinet that has no rules and its collecting all email ? If no then you might have emails that are not being archived because it would not have met any rule.
Get support involved to make sure configuration is all right. If you use collection/exclussion rules on all the folders/cabinet then make sure you have a folder/cabinet with unmatched rule to catch any messages that would have been missed by other folders or cabinets.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Rajan

I use collection rules on all the cabinets, so I will create another cabinet with unmatched rule to catch messages that don`t matched any collection rules.
After I will create that another cabinet I will probably need to run EmailXtract
archive task again for messages before I install EmailXtender and started using real-time archiving?
Thanks,
Matej

I found that each message is found three times????????
When I compare a specific mailbox and EX archive with EX Archive Verification Utility, everything looks fine.
error.xml = 0KB
notfound.xml = 0KB
When I open complete.xml with Excell, everything looks fine.
