Restore Shortcuts
I have a user with some shortcutted messages in their mailbox. If I perform a shortcut task using EmailXtract and chooose Restore all shortcutted messages (All Date Range) will this restore ALL shortcutted messages that have ever existed for this mailbox . . or will it only restore shortcutted mesages that are currently in the users mailbox?

Hello JoshuaT,
EmailXtract will go through the users mailbox and look at each individual message. If EmailXtract comes across an email with a Shortcut property, it will go back to EmailXtender to restore that original email only.
If the user does not have older shortcutted emails in their mailbox, EmailXtender won't restore them.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Brad

Thanks Brad.
Do you know how this impacts the transaction logs on the Exchange server while its checking for the shortcut property?
I can understand logging will occur if a message is restored but what about if its just checking for that property?. I have a lot of mailboxes to restore and have limited logging space on the Exchagne server.

Hi JoshuaT,
Unfortunately, I do not know how much transaction logging will take place on Exchange, but I believe it will be minimal. I will need to test it in my lab, or if you test a shortcutted email, you can check the transaction log size before and after the restore.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Brad
