Removing duplicate emails whine import

I am a newbee to email extender.

I have imported a pst file in the email extender.

I have another pst that I need to import. Second pst may have some emails which have already been imported during import of pst # 1

Is there any way that when I import pst#2, duplicate emails do not get imported?

EmailXtender will check every e-mail before it is imported to see if it already exists in the archive, if it does, it will not be imported again. Attachments in e-mails are treated the same way so there will never be multiple copies of the same attachment in the archive.

Andrew,

Thanks for your reply.

Is it possible that we can import duplicate emails? I mean is there any setting tweaking etc, through which if I want to have two copy of same email, I can have that?

Interesting question.

To my knowlege, there is no tweak. This would mean, that you you break the "single instance" you have per EX-server. This would be done by assigning multiple hash numbers to the same message. Consequently, your SQL db would grow rapidely (normally one calculates 1GB SQL db for 1.000.000 archived messges).

So, the impact on EX would be immense. I personally doubt this very much.

Hope this helps,
Jochen.
