Purpose of EMC Shortcuts for OWA service
Just implmented SourceOne 7.1SP2 against Exchange 2010 environment here and still going through some validations and test scenariors.
I just installed the EMC Shortcuts for OWA service on an Exchange 2010 CAS server in another site. I accessed that particular OWA instance and took a look at my shortcutted messages and I am not really getting the purpose of the OWA Extensions components of SourceOne. I have no way of verifying that the service is doing what it should be doing. I can retreive shortcutted items, but I figure that is because the hyperlinks within the shortcutted messages function the same as they do when using regular Outlook client. The message icon in OWA doesnt look any different either for shortcutted message. The icon looks like a normal message.
I can't find much within documentation that states what the OWA Extensions/Shortcuts service does? Does anyone know or know where I can find the info?
Thanks.

Hi Steven,
While logged on to OWA 2010, turn off conversation mode and then double click on the shortcutted message. If it is working properly, it will send request to SourceOne server for retrieval and you should proper message in the pop-up instead of message that will have attachments ending with .html or if body is shortcutted then links in the body of the emails. Email in users mailbox will continue to stay as an shortcutted message (saving space on tier 1 storage).
This allows users to have seamless experience.
I hope this helps.
