Overcome the keyword over 20 characters limit for To, From and CC
as per the Search Guide
"During the indexing process when EmailXtender archives a
message, all words are truncated to 20 characters. If keyword is
longer than 20 characters, enter only the first 20 characters of the
word as search criteria, or use a wildcard. For more information
on wildcards, refer to Wildcards on page 5-11.¿
My question related to this 20 character keyword limit for the TO and FROM and BCC fields. Since many To and From addresses are always more than 20 characters how do I do wild-card SMTP searches?
example if I get email from two individuals at the same domain
say
JaneDoe@twenty.com (18 characters)
and
AnthonyTDoe@twenty.com (22 characters)
and do a wild-card search for
*@twenty.com
The first address will work but since the second is truncated in the indexes as
"AnthonyTDoe@twenty.c"
it will not match the search criteria.
How do I get around this problem? (which is what is happening to me) as I need to find all email from that specific domain?
Thank you
