OTG event log corrupts

Hi,

Last week I had an issue regading the users not being able to resolve shortcuts. I checked the services and noticed that the Query service wasn't running. I restarted it and the problem was solved. However I wanted to check the OTG event log for errors, but the log file was corrupted.

This morning I noticed that the Data Source service wasn't running. I restarted it but again the OTG log was corrupt.

Does anyone have any idea how this is caused and what I can do to resolve this.

Kind regards,

Duncan

No, unfortunately I have no idea. As this is serious, I wouldn't hesitate opening a SR with EMC. - Please keep us posted.

Rethinking your post I wasn't sure if you repaired your event log? Once it's corrupted, it doesn't "repair" itself. Have a look if this resolution fits: "How to Delete Corrupt Event Viewer Log Files" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/172156/en-us

Hi Duncan,

Is your EX installed on cluster ? If its is then there could be an issue that OTG event log is sitting on qourm. If that is the case you might want to tweak registry for event logs to have it on a local disk which should help.

Rajan

In case you are not sure which registry key is to be changes, you can always open SR with support.
