Large number of .emcmf files in Worker directory
Hello,
We are getting ready to upgrade from SourceOne 6.5 to 6.6 SP1. We have two servers in our SourceOne exchange environment, one (Server A) runs the Master services, and Native Archive services, the other (Server B) runs Mobile, Search, Web, and Worker services.
I see in the documentation that the indexing server now requires at least 20 free gigs in the EMC SourceOne Work directory. I believe Server A is our indexer. The problem is that our EMC SourceOne Work directory on Server A keeps growing, we're almost out of space, and I don't understand why. Within the EMC SourceOne Work directory are three sub directories: ExArchiveTemp, ExIndexTemp, and Worker. The Worker folder is filled with thousands of .emcmf files going back to when we originally implemented SourceOne. Is it okay to delete any of these files, or are they needed by the system. If it is okay to delete, do I need to updated any references in any database tables so SourceOne doesn't go looking for a file that isn't there anymore?
Thanks very much for your help,
Frank

Greetings,
Work directory is like a temp folder where SourceOne will keep messages till successful archival is seen.
David, you site use Exchange or Domino ? On domino some time ago there was an issue that when Journal mailbox will have a very large message (in GB’s) notes will timeout while pulling it leaving a copy in work folder and then starting again. It was like a loop till that message was moved out. Later on there was a fix for it (I believe).
Personally, I would suggest you to have support look into your system to see why the files are there at first place.
Thanks,
Rajan
