Installing DiskXtender AFTER EmailXtender To Extend Container Volume
I have been requested to install DX with EX thats been working for 3 years. There is just under 1TB of data on the Container Volume (H:\ EX Container) LUN and this needs to be migrated to Centera. I am aware that when you install DX with EX, it automatically creates whats required after the first Volume closes after configuration. The current container settings are HARD DISK (as the storage is locally presented to the EX Server) and Volume Size is 500MB. I am also aware of Centera Volume size needing to be 90MB. Can anyone advise best practice to move the data that is located on the Volume BEFORE installation of DX. Is it simply a case of Forcing a Background Scan of the Drive or create a move rule based on .emx files and ALL dates etc..... HELP!!! Thanks in advance....

Dear,
You can threat EX as any other application without interaction with DiskXtender.
Just configure DiskXtender to manage and extend your H drive.
You right when you create a move rule, a purge rule (or purge directly after move)
You can give the ability to read directly in the Centera without fetch any data on disk.
And after you create launch a background scan
For your value of 90Mb, I think it's not needed by Centera but onlyt a best practice that give the best performance but I'm not sure that for the historical archival data, the performance is the major point.
But you can now set the new container size to 90Mb if you prefer.
Best Regards
