Hello,

You can remove indexes from EmailXtender Administrator.

You must to see EmailXtender Administrator with "view by month" and click with right buttom and clic in "Remove Monthly Index". NO DISPOSE.

These index are to search by EmailXtender Search or Web search. If you haven't indexes of a month, you will can not search messages from that month. If you want search messages in that month, you will reindex that month.

Regard.

Hello,

There is one caviet you need to be aware of while using this process. If you will dispose indexes and later on will be adding container back to create indexes again any updates to the indexes done by the EmailXtract will be lost.

Why don't you just increase the space on the drive if it is on SAN it can be done if there is space left on the spindle.

Otherwise you can attach another drive to the EX server, copy data to new drive and point EX to the new location (i just put it here in simple words but you can get documented steps from support or from support notes written by EMC engineers).

Thanks,
Rajan

I would strongly recommend that you adhear to Rajan's Answer.

Increasing drive space, or moving the indexes to a larger drive is strongly recommended in this scenerio.

Removing montly index will the month's worth of emails unavailable for searching.

Re-indexing a months worth of a data is time consuming and could cause issues if that data is required quickly.

Either way, do not allow your index drive to fall below 1 GB before making this decision. Open a support case if you require assistance.
