HSM Support on containers
Does EX support HSM on containers?
Suppose the total retention of archived mails is set to 5 years. What I want is that for one year from the date of archiving, the messages are stored on a set of FC disks and then from second year to upto fifth year, they automatically move onto a low cost SATA type disk storage.
Can we configure it like this?

To my understanding if DX is involved then EX should not have problem. Still I will suggest checking compatibility guides and get the solution verified by SVC team.
Thanks,

EX as it is does not allow EMX files to be on two disks.EX only knows a drive where its peeing all the files. There is solution in place which uses DiskXtender to do the similar job what you want to do. There you can configure DX rules for keeping certain files local and others on a cheap storage. But here you will have to see which solutions are in the compatibility guide and are supported. An example is EX+DX+Centera
Also you want to be sure that cheap storage media allows direct read functionality because if that does not support direct read then you will be creating a lot of I/O on disks while pulling shortcuts, reindexing data and so on...
Just my .02 cents
Thanks,
Raj
