How to extract Exchange contacts of a user.

Hello,

I know how to search for emails from a user who's account still exists or even one that does not exist any longer, but how do you extract contacts from the archive system?

Thanks Pit,

On the Archive Task Dialog in EmailXtract, on the "Item Types" tab, it has a check box for Contacts.

So to confirm, does EX archive all the items on this tab but not just allow them to be extracted?

essentially yes, at least you can't restore them in any sort of logical way. you can search for contacts in the EmailXtract application on the server, but you can't export them from there.

I just had this issue here and essentially purged everyones contacts older than a year. I basically DR'd my exchange environment and ex-merged everything back in. It was the quickest and easiest way to get contacts back for a user.

Hi Wiser,

As mentioned by another user EX does archive different types of contents but it only exports emails.

Thanks,

Actually, I saw it with my own eyes, a full export of a users mail using the EmailXtender Outlook Plug-in had exported calendar and contact items.
