Exporting email to a PST file

Is it possible to export email messages from the SourceOne search interface to a PST file?  I was able to to this in EmailXtender and it makes exporting a long list of messages much easier than having to export them to a mailbox first.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions for a better way to export a long list of of messages from SourceOne please let me know.

Thanks.

Good Afternoon,

The Function to Export to PST is included in our Source One Discovery Manager Application.

The Documentation for Discover Manager can be found on Powerlink at the following URL :

Release Notes : http://powerlink.emc.com/km/live1/en_US/Offering_Technical/Technical_Documentation/300-011-763.pdf

Install/Admin : http://powerlink.emc.com/km/live1/en_US/Offering_Technical/Technical_Documentation/300-011-754.pdf

If Installing Discovery Manager is not an option for you, then the only practical way to export multiple messages out of Source One is to restore them to a Mailbox and then export from that mailbox to a PST.

I believe there is a reporting module in the works.

Exporting to PST and other formats is including in Discovery Manager.

I agree that the feature was there in EmailXtender and is frustrating to some that it's not there in SourceOne.

You can get around it by searching for data, restoring to a bland mailbox and exporting it from there.

Not elegant but it works.

Unfortunately, when you are exporting gigabytes of mail having to use an intermediate mailbox is problematic.

EMC seems to have made a decision to leave key functionality out of the base SourceOne software, such as exporting messages to a PST and audit reports, to force customers to purchase additional software.  This is disappointing to say the least.

I won't even ask why you are exporting GB's worth of email......
