Exchange 2007 Questions.

We just completed our install and there are several issues I would like dates/information pertaining.

Specifically Exchange 2007 SP1 being certified, Exchange 2007 OWA integration and is there a list of thridparty products that EmailXtender does not work with.

Our group is looking to replace Ciscos Unity product with Microsoft Unified messaging, has anyone heard of issues with this?

Thanks,

Michael Mclaughlin

I have done a couple if installations with Exchange 2007 SP1, things are working fine. Are you facing some specific issue there?

The query service keeps hanging. I can't do any searches until I kill exQuery.exe and restart the service. Any ideas?

Support advised me to configure Registry such that you reserve port 1028 for ExQuery.exe. This should help avoid any ExQuery.exe related issues.

Forgive me for asking, how do you configure the registry to reserve port 1028 for ExQuery

That is what I am trying to find out and am not able to. Would update when I get the solution?

I saw a note under another thread. I haven't done anything with this. Perhaps support could post instructions?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\ReservedPorts

Configure port allocations for EX processes in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\services

If issue is with Query Service hanging best is to check the release notes of 4.81.564, there are certain fixes which should help. But ports should be reserved on EX as well because even if fix is there but port is used by another application, you could see issues

What I am working to get here is that Exchange 2007sp1 IS fully supported by EMC. Also when will OWA implimentation be available? And finally has anyone heard of issues with Exchange Unified Messaging?

Thanks!

There is no confirmed date available for OWA support for Exchange 2007as yet, but it's something being agressively worked on.
