Error when opening shortcutted email

When in Outlook the email shows up in the reading pane, but when you double-click on the email an error comes up saying that the email can't be opened because it has been shortcutted and to try synchronizing if running in cached mode.

Hi Gibsond,

Forshortcuts to resolve in Outlook you need to have one of the two compotents installed on the client machines:

1. EmailXtender Shortcut add-in
2. EmailXtender Search plug-in

Please install one of the components on the client machines and see if you are able to open shortcut mail after double clicking on it.

Other than client side, we also need to make sure that there is a connection mailbox added in the EmailXtender Admin GUI on EmailXtender Serever. Its a well documented procedure which you should be able to find in the EX documentation.

Please make sure that there is no error reported on any of the event logs on the EX server iteself.

Other than above scenarion please confirm if shortcuts are working on EX server itself or not? If shortcuts are failing on EX server itself and connection mailbox is added then best is to speak to a support engineer in case its urgent. Support engineer should be able to help you in that case.
