Emailxtender Read-Only Mode
Hi there,
what exactly is changed in EmailXtender/the database when EmailXtender is put in "coexistance with SourceOne", which often is referred to as "read-only mode"? I'd like to understand the changes... it's probably stated somewhere that his cannot be reverted backwards, is that correct?
Many thanks,
Jochen.

Hi Jochen,
To my understanding when its mentioned that EX is read only mode all that means is following:
1. No new data is ingested into EX from real time journaling. Even if a test mailbox or journal mailbox exist as connection mailbox, SuspendMailPull registry key is set to 1 to stop EX from pulling emails.
2. EmailXtract is not run anymore because all new data is expected to be handled by SourceOne.
3. When EX server gets added as connection in SourceOne then SourceOne can only use EX as a read only repository instead of trying to ingest anything into it. We cannot ingest anything into EX using SourceOne.
4. SourceOne can search for EX emails and do the shortcut retrieval from EX server.
5. Once shortcuts are upgraded those are not EX shortcut any more. They have customized body from SourceOne and attachments are converted to UURL pages.
Thanks,
Rajan
