EmailXtender Attachments cannot be opened in Outlook 2007
I am running Exhange 2003 SP2, EmailXtender 4.81.564 and Outlook 2007 SP2.
I am unable to open attachments that have been shortcut using Outlook 2007. The shortcut message opens with no problem. An Outlook 2003 client is able to open the same message and attachment with success. These are things I have completed so far:
1- I have searched the knowledgebase and checked that the "Apply macro security settings to installed add-ins" is disabled. (Powerlink solution esg103379)
2- I have verified that the Legato add-in is not disabled. (Powerlink solution esg95831)
3- I have followed the thread: problem to use shortcutaddin in Outlook 2007 suggestions as well.
I am wondering if this a compatibility problem or am I just missing something simple? Any help is appreciated.

Is it a locked down machine we are talking about ? Is users trying to resolve shortcuts member of local admin group ? Have you re-created MAPI32.DLL file, it should have been disucssed in other discussion here on the forum? What is OS of the machine that is having problem ?

I have re-created the Mapi32.dll with the Fixmapi.exe utility.
The OS of the computer is Windows XP SP3 Build 2600.
As an addiitonal test I installed the new Outlook Addin tool dated 3/4/2009 to see if this would correct the problem but with no success.

Hello bh49,
Are you getting any event errors in the OTG event log on the EmailXtender server when trying to open the email on the 2007 client?
Is this happening on all Office 2007 clients, or just one?
As well, you noted that your EmailXtender server is ver 4.81.564, unfortunately you should not use a newer version of the client; it should always match the version with the server or older.
