emailXtender 4.81 & MS SQL Server 2008

Is emailXtender compatible with MS SQL Server 2008??

If it is not compatible then can any one help me that how can I completely remove/un-install the SQL Server 2008 from emailXtender Server i.e using MS Windows Server 2003??

Thank you very much....

I think SQL 2008 is not supported. If this is not your production server, you can uninstall EX & SQL. Infact, EX would not have got installed with SQL 2008. If this is production, I would suggest contacting support for this.

i have asked support:

>> SQL Server 2008 is not supported with EmailXtender Product Family and there are no future plans for it.

>> The SourceOne Product family will have support for SQL Server 2008 on road map.

Has anybody tried the migration to SQL 2008 and with which experiences?

Thanks

Didi,

I would not go ahead with the EmailXtender Database Migration to SQL 2008. This is currently not Supported by EMC.

yes, it might work, however since SQL is a key/critical component of EmailXtender, I would not take that chance.

For your reference, here is a link to the current Compatibility Guide for EmailXtender :

Hello Stephane,

i know there is no support for EmailXtender with SQL 2008, i have talked with EMC.

Currently we have an old Server with SQL 2005 for many other Databases too. And now we have

build a new SQL 2008 Cluster with better Hardware and higher Availability and EmailXtender is the

last Database which we must migrate and after this we want shutdown the old Server.

Question again, anybody has experience in migrating EmailXtender to SQL 2008? With SQL 2008 it's

also possible to run a database in a "SQL 2005 compatibility mode".

Thanks
