Did you download the EX server installation software? There is a subfolder, maybe \Addins\Outlook that has the ExShortcutAddin software.

Hope this helps.

Hello Loretta,

There are three different clients that can be used for shortcut retrieval:

1. EmailXtender Shortcut Add-in
2. EmailXtender Search Plug-in
3. EMC SouorceOne Offline Access for EmailXtender

There three plug-ins has different functionalities to but any of those could be used depending upon your requirement and what kind of license you have.

EmailXtender Shortcut Add-in : Is very basic add-in all it does is to help you resolve shortcut email in MS Outlook. This add-in will trap calls in outlook e.g. Open and Forward calls. If it plug-in is installed it will trap the call, resolve the shortcut email and sync it back to users mailbox. Once a shortcut is resolved emails will not be a shortcut email any more, it will be a full copy of the email.

EmailXtender Search plug-in: This client gets used for two purposes. One is to allow users to run searches againt EmailXtender Servers and secondly it has Shortcut Add-in already part of it to help users resolve shortcut emails in MS Outlook.

EMC SourceOne Offline Access for EmailXtender: This is a client for outlook that can locally cache shortcut emails, that way when users are not on the network they can still resolve shortcuts from local cache. This client has many configuration settings that can be customised. You might want to download its documentation to read more about it.

EmailXtender Shortcut Add-in and EmailXtender Search Plug-in are part of the EmailXtender Install kit that you can download from powerlink.emc.com

EmailXtender Shortcut Add-in is located under "\Addins\Outlook" directory as exShortcutAddin.exe file.

EmailXtender Shortcut Add-in is located under "\Setup\Windows" folder as exClientSetup.exe file.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Rajan
