Discovery Manager Preview is slow

My legal department is currently using the Discovery Manager tool to review email data.  The DM application slows down as the size of the email gets larger.  Most of the time they only want to see the email body and have no need to open the attachment.  It's taking 27 seconds to preview a 60 MB email.  To the end user this is an eternity.  Is there any way to preview messages in Discovery Manager without the pulling back the entire attachment?  They like the application and the tagging ability, but it's a huge pain point to review larger messages.  Any ideas/thoughts would be appreciated.  I'm on version 6.6 SP1.

Hi Todd,

Last time when I checked in lab, to preview the message SourceOne downloads the EMCMF (message including attachments and extra files needed to build preview) and then build the preview after reading the information.

You idea does make sense that why don't we have a option to only download what is needed and then build the preview. Attachments can be called later if needed. From architecture point of view I am not sure how feasible it would be but for sure something to look into.

I would suggest opening a support ticket. If no existing configuraiton exist that could help then definately request for enhancement can be submitted (RFE).

Thanks,

Rajan

Rajan,

You helped confirm my thoughts that it indeed was pulling down the entire messages to obtain a preview.  I have opened up a SR with EMC to obtain more additonal details and will post them to this thread.

Thanks
