Changing how/when Email is retrieved from EmailXtender

Is it possible to change when email is retrieved?

Scenario is we have a records management package that does not play well with Emailxtender and a workaround that we see would work is if emails are retrieved from Extender as soon as they are accessed (selected or highlighted).

I'm not entirely sure I understand the scope of the situation. Does your application package read email from an individual mailbox or access multiple mailboxes (ie, for each user/record)? Also...what mail system are you using?

Another question is can you afford not to shortcut the messages that are being made available to your application? They will be archived, but not shortcut...so full versions remain in your mail system.

Hello,

I believe I know where you are coming from. I seen people using records management software where they drag and drop some emails in some folder or a vault that is monitored by another software for any reasons and one of then could be workflow process.

if emails are shortcut and you use drag and drop functionality instead of full mail you could be seeing only stubs went to the record maangement software.

By any chance did you try installing offline access on the client machines that needs this functionality? I never tested it but it might be worth while because SourceOne offline access for EmailXtrader caches all shortcut emails locally on the client machine it might be able to help you when you will do a drag-drop of message.

I have offline access on my desktop, I dragged and dropped a message from outlook on my desktop and it was full message that is sitting on my desktop instead of being a stub.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Rajan
