can we use existing SQL Server, or do we need to purchase new one?
In planning mode for getting EmailXtender.
We have a very large SQL Server that we use for our applications, it has lots of space and processing power available. Do we need to purchase another SQL Server, (6 CALs) or can we just use the existing SQL Server for the database that EmailXtender will need?
Thanks!

Please check EX Documentation for more details. EX will not have problem if SQL is local or on another server provided there is enough connectivity, permissions, disk space, Disk speed and CPU for EX to do the job.
A lot of companies buys processor licenses so they like one dedicated SQL sever, EX should not have problems with it. Any known limitations would be in the Compatibility guide (MESSAGING) and Install Guide.
Thanks,
