Calendar Items, Notes, Contacts. Verify what the 3 main tasks do to them.
Hello,
Exchange 2003 Environment, EX 4.8.1.655
Just a quick review to ensure we know what happens to Calendar Items (Meetings/Appointments), Notes, and Contacts:
1. It appears that an Archive task will Archive Calendar Items, Notes and Contacts.
2. You cannot Shortcut these items. They are grayed out in our EmailXtract tool.
3. You CAN delete these regular items with a Delete task.
4. And Finally, you cannot extract Calendar Items, Notes or Contacts from EmailXtender in any way shape or form (just checking).
Are the above 4 statements true?

ad 1. The archiving task (with EmailXtract) only archives calendar tasks, Notes, and contacts if specifically specified in the archiving taks (tab: item types). - I usally disselct these...
ad 2. Correct
ad 3. Correct
ad 4. No, in the archive search (exsearch.exe) in Outlook, you can search, find, display and restore/copy these idems to PST, mapi mail profile, etc.
Hope that helps,
Jochen.

Thanks.
Regarding question 4, I do not see where I can search for contacts or calendar items in EmailXtender Search. Can you explain? The version of the plug-in we are using is 4.81.655.
On three tabs available it looks like there are only criteria for Messages, and that's all I've ever seen returned in a search. When we archive we selected all Item Types available.
Thanks much for the clarification.

You cannot specifically search for calendar items and contacts, but they do show up in an export if it was created/dated in that specific time period.
Thank you,
