Archiving and Shortcutting taking a long time
We just started to archive and shortcut our users mailboxes starting with some old accounts that are not in use.
I will archive and shortcut a bunch of mailboxes and then one will be running and looks like it stops but after you wait a while it will archive 20 some messages and then stop again, and so on.
the current proccess has been doing it all day on a single mailbox(which usually takes under 5min). Last time it happned we cancled it, restarted server and started again and then it ran fine. and now its starting to do it again.
Any ideas. Currently Running 4.81.1043

Expected for EmailXtract application is to go though mailboxes and do the needed jobs but some times few hickups could cause problem with archiving.
Are archiving jobs that are affected or its shortcuts jobs well ? Hopefully you have not unticked "Shortcut Previously archived items only" as that options adds overhead to the shortcut jobs to archive messages before shortcutting. I usually suggest people to keep this option always ticked.
Also is exchange server local to EX server from where you are extracting emails ? If not then try using local server.
If nothing helps I would suggest contact EMC EmailXtender Support as they should be able to do the troubleshooting with you to resolve it quickly.
Thanks,
Rajan

Make sure your AV is not slowing down access to your mail stores. Turn it off temporarily and see if anything improves. A setting in our NOD32 was severely affecting EmailXtract tasks and our BES.
