Archive Public Folders not working since E2K3 decomission
I have an open ticket with EMC for several months now on this with no resolution. Since decomissioning our last E2K3 server we can no longer archive public folders. We are now 100% Exchange 2010 and I suspect that S1 was pulling Public folders from the last Exchange 2003 server. Permissions are all good and the S1 account/mailboxe can open and browse all PFs using Outlook and OWA just fine.
The error we see from the Source One Management Console when you try setup a new Organizational Policy Activity to archive Public Folders is below (screnshot in the attachment)
Anyone else seeing this?
Failed to validate changes.
Cannot open folder: , for mailbox: . (0x86041E01) [ExMMCAdmin.dll, CoExExchFolder.cpp(1337).CoExExchFolder::GetPublicFolders]

I am at 6.8 SP1 (6.8.1.1073)
This worked fine until we remoevd the last E2K3 server and its PFs.

Greetings,
Did you try to delete any existing archive activities for public folder archiving and creating new after deleting existing activity ?
Error above appears to suggest that when MAPI is being used to enumerate folder structure it is unable to do so.
>Cannot open folder: , for mailbox: . (0x86041E01) Unknown error (0x80040115)
You already mentioned that outlook do not have any problem while opening the public folders, SourceOne might be using the MAPI calls/functions to get this listing which it might be failing on. As you mentioned somehow exchange 2003 might have been playing role somewhere what it cannot since it is gone. Problem will be that if a MAPI function/call is failing then Microsoft might need to be engaged. You mentioned support is already engaged, did they find any solution ?
Thanks,
Rajan

EMC are getting Microsoft on the case now. If this issue is not unique to me they surely here would be lots of other customers experienceing this as I would imagine this scenario is quite common?
