Archive pst

Hi,

Is it possible to archive pst files residing on the desktop using Email Xtender. The files do not reside on Exchange server.

If yes, how do we do this?

Yes
EmailXtract has a feature that allows it to seek .pst files as well. Simply select the computer name and the program will do the rest. The account that runs extract must have admin privs on the target machine.
Hope this helps.

You can use EmailXtract to import .pst files. The program is usually run from the EX server so that machine will need a clear shot to the .pst files (perhaps through the admin share).
Hope this helps.

If I select a pst or a user from here, would it mean that it would archive mails from the pst that resides on the user's desktop?

Does it mean we use mailbox selection for archieving all mailboxes & pst selection for specific pst's and browse the location of the PC which could be the desktop?

Can this same functionality be performed now with SourceOne?  Curious how the executable gets installed and launched on the desktops.

Yes! SourceOne has an ability to discover the PST. PST Discovery and Archiving are two different processes or activities in SourceOne.
