An error processing the PST file has occurred.
Hello people. Recently I am getting the error message below when I try to shortcut some .pst files. This error message does not happen with all users .pst files.
All .pst files are not read only.
Any ideas what the problem is?
------------ Shortcut --> Processing PST File: PST Files ------------------
*** An error processing the PST file has occurred. Reason:
Cannot add personalfoldername.pst to MAPI Profile....
Error:
Skipping file personalfoldername.pst
All .pst files are not read only.

Have you done scanning of these PST file with the outlook tool (ScanPST) to make sure these PST files are healthy and also check to make sure these PST files are not open my any other profile ? When PST file is open in outlook, outlook will create locks on the PST file which are hard to work with.
Also check to make sure these PST file were not created long ago using Office 97 etc. if yes try converting these PST files to UNICODE PST files.
Thanks,
Rajan

Sorry for the late responds guys.
The problem I had in our EmailXtender environment was because of .pst files that were encrypted with a password.
When the password was removed, it worked like a charm!
Thanks for the feedback Rajan!
Cheers,
