145K folders in Payload folder from 2+ years ago
I've got 145K+ folders in the E:\Program Files\OTG\EmailXtender\Payload folder. The vast majority of them appear to have been created during shortcutting operations.
Since they're two plus years old, can I safely delete them? It looks like the only new ones are from the latest shortcutting job.

Greetings,
Payload folder is used by EmailXtract tasks. When a shortcut or archive task will run if a message is to be archived or a message is found in a users mailbox and user is not originally owner of the message then a update file .upd will be created to be processed.
These files will be then refferenced in MSMQ Private Queues for EX to be pocessed. In case some did a export of data from MSMQ but didn't put i back that is one reason why files might have stayed in payload folder. There could be other reasons as well e.g. there might have been a bug in product that didn't de-refference files after that were processed or may be other reasons.
What I would suggest is to involve support to look into this because they can help you to decide if files needs reprocessing or what can be done to the files.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Rajan
