Switch responds to ACM SQL check

Question

I have enabled the SQL check (port 1433) in ACM for all devices. Curiously, some but not all of our Cisco switches show up as MS-SQL servers. Anyone have an idea why?

My guess (and the only thing I can think of that makes sense) is that the switches are configured for port forwarding, and therefore appear to be listening on port 1433.

Have you tried a telnet connection to that port? Or, even better an SQL connection to see what you get?

Makes sense. We went back and changed our filter to only monitor known SQL servers. Thanks for the help.
