SNMP Question
We are trying to monitor a device passively through SMARTS. Is it possible to configure SMARTS to listen for SNMP traps on port 162 from one device, without having to send it 'Get' messages on port 161.
We only want to monitor one device this way, not our whole network?
Any help would be appreciated.

the best way is adding the device to the topology and unmanaging the elements you don't want to monitor, for example, the SNMP agent, interfaces, etc ... . Just leave the IP as managed element and that should do the trick ...
i hope this helps, otherwise ask again and we´ll find a solution
cheers
