SM_SITEMOD or SM_CLONE?
Hello All!
I wanted to follow up on a discussion I had with some of you at users meeting. I was covering tools that are intended to help you upgrade to the latest version. These include sm_migrate and sm_deploy utilities. These utilities examine local directory structure, extract the files that have been modified or introduced by you and then help you apply them to your new installations. While the utility received favorable feedback many of you pointed out an issue that the utilities only cover the default local directory and do not take into account local directories configured by you. I am working with engineering to see if we can close this gap and update our utilities to understand your installations better. We have some working ideas about dealing with additional local directories used via SM_SITEMOD. I would like to better understand how many of you are using sm_cloneEnv. I am not sure if it is something that is being used, and if the utilities need to be updated for it as well

Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility. Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and can go unanswered for a long time.
You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right. Then search for and select: "Smarts Support Forum".
