ABSTRACT

This section introduces the audience to EMC Smarts distributed architecture, discovery managers, domain managers, adapters, and its publish-subscribe mechanism to synchronize internally as well as with third-party applications. An overview of EMC Smarts Common Information Model (CIM) and integration points such as scripting languages, programming languages, CLI, SQL, XML, and dynamic modeling are introduced with examples of available technology that developers should select to meet their needs.

SESSION TAKE-AWAYS

Understand EMC Smarts architecture and root-cause analysis as a foundation for network and system management as well as any other field requiring automated root-cause analysis.  Understand how to integrate third-party applications with EMC Smarts solutions managers.

SPEAKER BIO:   Sergey Schindler

With over 20 years of management and technical experience in the software and networking industries, Sergey Schindler is working in Global Engineering Service Solutions and Interoperability Center. In his past Sergey served as Director of Systems Engineering at SMARTS, an infrastructure and network management company (acquired by EMC). During his career Sergey held several positions of increasing responsibilities within enterprise IT and professional services at companies like Riversoft (acquired by Micromuse), Williams Communications, Aspect Communications, Novell, and ComputerLand.
