New to SMARTS and Need HELP with SNMPv3
First time posting, so I'm not sure if this is in the correct place.
We are using EMC SMARTS for monitoring solution and now we have need to discover devices via SNMPv3 and consume SNMPv3 traps. All of the documentation does not work. I have submitted a ticket and that also did not work. If anyone else has successfully consumed a SNMPv3 trap with trap receiver and generated an alert from it or at least discovered a device that has an SNMPv3 agent then I would greatly appreciate any help from them. Please let me know what information is required. Bare with me as I am new to SMARTS and this entire environment was setup by another individual.

Jordan,
You are in the right place. Welcome to the world of Smarts. If I understand you correctly, you have access to the Smarts documentation on setting up Traps, but the documentation isn't helping you? is that correct?

Nate, thanks for the response. You are correct about the doc, I have it but I seem to be missing something. I believe our trap adapter will need to be reconfigured to load the SNMPv3 agent credentials and consume its traps, but I am concerned that this could impact other v2/v1 traps that are currently generating notifications just fine. In the SAM Adapter User Guide I notice there are 2 separate scenarios (listed below) each with different instructions. I believe our deployment will fit scenario 1 but I don't know how to confirm. This was all setup by a SMARTS sme and I have recently inherited some of the responsibility, so I really appreciate any help!
Scenario 1: Single Trap receiver with Adapter Platform
In Scenario 1, a single trap receiver listens for all traps from the network.
Scenario 2: Trap exploder forwards traps to a second trap receiver
In Scenario 2, there are two trap receivers. The first trap receiver referred to as the trap exploder, receives all traps from the network and selectively forwards only those traps that meet certain requirements.
